Glass patio enclosure in this project is harmoniously integrated into the structure of a modern single-storey house. The wide aluminium construction runs along almost the entire length of the garden-facing elevation, fitting perfectly against the building wall. As a result, the veranda looks like a natural extension of the living room rather than an artificially added element. Slim graphite-coloured profiles and large glass panes make the whole structure appear very light despite its impressive width. The wide span was achieved using only one support post at the front, without the need to introduce additional posts along the line of sight. This solution guarantees an unobstructed panoramic view of the surrounding space, significantly enhancing comfort of use and the overall aesthetics of the property.
The roof was made of safety glass supported by aluminium rafters. From above, the roof is protected by a veranda awning – fabric extended across the entire roof surface. This type of sun protection blocks most of the sun’s rays before they reach the glass, preventing the patio from overheating on hot days. The awning filters the light, provides pleasant shade, and allows the veranda to be used comfortably even in full sun, without giving up the view of the garden.
The project features a frameless sliding glass system which, when opened, fully connects the patio with the surrounding outdoor space. In addition, the structure was equipped with screen blinds – external fabric blinds mounted on the profiles. When lowered, they create a uniform, semi-transparent surface that protects against low sun, wind, and the view of neighbours, while still preserving the view of the greenery. Screens also help maintain thermal comfort inside the enclosure, especially with such large glazed surfaces.
The interior of the veranda was arranged as an elegant garden lounge. In the central part there is a large technorattan corner sofa with comfortable cushions, as well as a table and chairs – ideal for family breakfasts or evening dinner gatherings. The whole arrangement is complemented by numerous potted plants placed in groups along the wall and by the glass corners of the veranda, softening the modern architecture and visually connecting the relaxation area with the garden. Atmospheric LED lighting integrated into the rafters highlights the roofline after dark and transforms the glass patio enclosure into a cosy evening lounge with soft, even light.
