In this project, ShadowXL presents a modern glass patio roof made of laminated safety glass, supported by slim aluminum profiles. The structure is based on modern aluminum profiles that are resistant to corrosion and weather conditions. Combined with laminated safety glass, they create a visually light yet very durable construction. The materials used are resistant to UV radiation, do not fade, do not deform, and do not require complex, regular maintenance – the roof will maintain its elegant appearance for years, even in a demanding forest environment.
A veranda awning has also been installed on the glass roof, providing protection from excessive sunlight from above. The awning fabric creates pleasant shade over the lounge and dining areas, reduces the temperature under the glass on hot days, and effectively limits the heating of furniture and the patio flooring.
This remotely controlled veranda awning allows you to transform the character of the space in seconds – from a fully sunlit area, perfect for morning coffee, to a pleasantly shaded setting ideal for afternoon relaxation or evening gatherings by the grill. It is a practical addition to the glass roof that significantly enhances the comfort of using the patio on sunny days.
The photos show how modern glass and aluminum harmoniously blend with the traditional wooden facade of the house. The warm tone of the wooden boards beautifully contrasts with the cooler gray of the structure and glass panels, creating an elegant and timeless effect.
The patio is finished with flooring in gray tones, which complements the color scheme of the roof while emphasizing the natural surroundings – greenery of the forest, shrubs, and lawn. The modern form of the glass roof does not dominate the building but highlights its architecture and natural environment.
Under the roof, two main zones have been designed: a comfortable lounge area with bright armchairs, a sofa with cushions, and a coffee table, as well as a dining area with a large table and chairs, perfect for family meals outdoors.
A modern gas grill has been placed nearby, turning the covered patio into the center of summer home life – regardless of the weather. Ambient LED lighting installed under the glass roof highlights the structure and creates a cozy atmosphere after dark.
This type of glass patio roof not only enhances the visual appeal of the building but also significantly increases the functionality of the outdoor space. It is a solution that elegantly combines modern technology (glass, aluminum, veranda awning) with the natural warmth of a wooden facade and the surrounding forest landscape, creating a cohesive and inviting relaxation area for homeowners and their guests.
